CALABASAS, Calif. -- Ixia (Nasdaq: XXIA), a leading, global provider of IP network testing solutions, today introduced IxVoice, a comprehensive new family of performance and conformance test tools focused on Voice over IP (VoIP) and IP telephony technologies.

The new product line is a result of the acquisition of privately-held G3 NOVA Technology, for a total of $9.0 million in cash and common stock, plus possible future earnout payments. G3 NOVA is headquartered in Westlake Village, California, and also has a team of over 40 engineers based in Bucharest, Romania. The G3 NOVA team are experts in developing test tools for testing VoIP and IP telephony devices and systems.

IxVoice offers a comprehensive set of test solutions for network and telephony equipment manufacturers, as well as the growing number of carriers and enterprises that are deploying converged IP networks. The IxVoice technology is a proven test solution demonstrated by G3 NOVA's acceptance in the market while other players have struggled during the same period.

"Ixia continues to execute on its strategy of acquiring small companies with proven technology that enable us to offer a broader portfolio to our current customers as well as gain access to new customer segments. The introduction of IxVoice is a direct result of our acquisition of G3 NOVA, opening a new growth opportunity for Ixia," said Errol Ginsberg, president and CEO of Ixia. "As a leader in IP network testing, Ixia will go where IP goes and the IxVoice offering now allows us to bridge the gap between legacy and the IP telephony testing needs of equipment manufacturers, carriers, and enterprises."

IxVoice mixes the unique ability to measure the results and analyze the Quality of Voice (QoV) and Quality of Fax (QoF) from correlated calls over PSTN and IP while mixing and switching between various media streams such as voice, tones, data, and fax. The extensive test library of IxVoice is capable of addressing a wide range of test applications with the ability to emulate SIP, H.323, MGCP/ MEGACO, SCCP (Cisco's Skinny protocol) signaling, and RTP media streaming protocols. IxVoice is able to fully automate the call flow, feature, and performance of voice networks using a multi-interface, multi-technology approach integrated inside an automated, scalable, and distributed framework.
