VANCOUVER -- Incognito Software announced today the release of its new Advanced Policy Server (APS).

Broadband operators are not able to reap the full benefits of what bandwidth managers have to offer. This is due to the inability of subscriber management and provisioning tools to communicate effectively with bandwidth management servers. Incognito's APS bridges the gap between these two services so that different subscriber levels can be dynamically mapped to bandwidth on per subscriber basis, eliminating the need for current labor-intensive methods.

Incognito's APS solution differs from other solutions currently on the market, acting as a complimenting service to an existing infrastructure. Using an open API, this service can be easily integrated with today's leading bandwidth solutions and DOCSIS 1.0+ networks. Incognito will release a PCMM-compliant version of APS in late Q3 2005.

Incognito's policy solution provides a "broadband" solution that works on any type of network, not just DOCSIS networks. Incognito is able to take advantage of its subscriber to IP address database from its role in provisioning. This allows operators to distribute policy decisions down to the location of the bandwidth manager vs. centrally. It also eliminates the need to perform a costly DHCP LEASEQUERY to determine a subscriber's IP address. This solution enables operators to implement fully detailed service plans to fit individual customers and their respective net usage.
