That's a gem of a quote from CRN earlier this week. It's from an unnamed reseller, in an article about how resellers are warming up the new-look Juniper under CEO Kevin Johnson. (See The New Juniper and Photos: Juniper HQ.)
To be fair, I've left part of the sentence out; the exec was saying Juniper should set itself apart as a brand, and not market itself as Yet Another Cisco Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: CSCO) or HP Inc. (NYSE: HPQ).
But the reseller doesn't elaborate on how Juniper could be more Apple-like. So let's do it for him: Juniper could...
- Set up shop in the mall!
- Offer overpriced products that people snap up for fashion's sake, even if they break easily!
- Close up the software, and then go criticize other people for not being open!
It's the day before a three-day weekend in the United States and the UK. Go on. Make up your own, and post it to the message board below.
(Full disclosure: CRN, like Light Reading is owned by United Business Media LLC, although it's in a different division.)
