TEMPE, Ariz. -- Culminating ten months of rigorous development and testing, Corrent Corporation today announced that its Packet Armor Security Processor CR7120 has been validated for compatibility with IBM PowerNP NP4GS3 Network Processor based solutions. Corrent's CR7120 is the first third party silicon solution to qualify for IBM's exclusive "Ready for IBM Technology" program, which validates the compatibility of pre-configured and pre-tested solutions with IBM Microelectronics® products. "Corrent's acceptance into the “Ready for IBM Technology” program, validates the company's continuous efforts to develop innovative and comprehensive Internet security solutions," said Richard Takahashi, CEO and president of Corrent Corporation. "For months, Corrent worked with IBM Microelectronics to develop a fully compatible network and security processor combination. The result is an offering that will invaluably benefit our customers."The CR7120 is the industry's first fully integrated security processor incorporating public key acceleration, line rate encryption, and full IPSec protocol processing in a single device. The CR7120, which supports both symmetric and public key encryption standards within a single silicon device, operates at speeds up to three gigabits per second. More importantly, from a system perspective, the CR7120 maintains gigabit data rates through its highly efficient, integrated programmable IPsec packet engine. This capability sets Corrent's solution apart from the competition; none of which offer such functionality at gigabit data rates. Corrent Corp.
