BEIJING -- Spirent Communications, a wholly owned business group of Spirent plc., (NYSE:SPM and LSE: SPT) and Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., a global provider of telecom equipment and network solutions, today announced a collaborative agreement to accelerate the development of Huawei's high performance network communications systems.Under this agreement, Spirent will provide Huawei automated regression testing for its equipment during the research and development (R&D) phase in an effort to provide a future platform for automatic production testing.Regression testing is thorough feature testing. During the latter phases of R&D, regression testing becomes increasingly more complex and challenging because of the number of features that must be tested. In addition, regression testing minimizes deployment risks enabling early detection of bugs and caveats during software and firmware upgrades. Automated regression testing reduces labor costs, as fewer engineers are required to manually run tests. “Testing with Spirent offers Huawei immediate access to performance information about its full series of data communications equipment,” said Liu Jiangfeng, Vice President of Huawei Technologies. "Our joint research and development activities will ensure that our customers are able to fully leverage quality networking systems.”Spirent CommunicationsHuawei Technologies Co. Ltd.
