SHENZHEN, China -- Huawei Technologies, a global telecom equipment and solutions provider, has taken the lead in the industry in putting forward the carrier-class IP Telecom Network solution as a result of its in-depth understanding of telecom services, its extensive past and ongoing cooperation with global carriers and its vast experience in the IP field. From 29th June to 30th July, a well-prepared seminar and demonstration of IP Telecom Network solution will be held by Huawei in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, for the telecom operators in the region of the Middle East and North Africa.

With the rapid development of modern communications technologies, traditional telecom networks can no longer accommodate the proliferation of telecom services, while the existing Internet itself encounters a number of deficiencies in its operation management and service bearing capabilities. For these reasons, equipment manufacturers and carriers have for years now been eagerly searching for the ways to integrate traditional PSTN, ATM and IP networks. Today, the openness character of IP technologies enables and facilitates new value-added services on the IP network, making it possible to integrate multiple-network.

To solve the problems encountered when providing carrier-class services based on traditional IP platforms, Huawei has launched the IP Telecom Network solution that can bear traditional PSTN services and data and leased line services as well as support new IP services with carrier-class QoS levels. With much improvement in terms of service adaptability, manageability and cost reduction, these solutions represent great innovation with regard to traditional IP network technologies. In July 2003, four proposals focusing on “Building Carrier-Class IP Networks” jointly prepared by Huawei and China Telecom were accepted by ITU SG13, becoming the draft for future IP telecom network standards.
