STOCKHOLM -- Hotsip AB and Enea announced today a strategic partnership to develop innovative, new applications such as messaging, conferencing and IP telephony for Hotsip's Multimedia Communication Engine, M2CE(tm). The partnership is formed to leverage Hotsip's SIP/J2EE Application Server technology, with off-the-shelf applications for large scale SIP enabled broadband and 3G/IMS networks.

Under the agreement Enea will provide its expertise in SIP and development of data and telecom services. M2CE, together with the M2CE Service Creation Environment (SCE), allows for rapid and cost efficient development of innovative applications.

With its extensive standard-based open API's and well known technologies, the M2CE SCE is ideal for developing new presence, messaging, conferencing, IP telephony and value added applications for fixed, mobile, broadband and converged networks. Already at VON Europe 2005 there are application examples available for demonstration in Hotsip's booth 855. The next step for this partnership has been to jointly approach customers and channels to further elaborate the potential for rapid and cost efficient application development.

"This partnership is an important step to show the strengths of our SIP/J2EE application server together with third party applications to ensure speedy development processes and access to a wide variety of applications", says Kenneth Gustafsson, CEO of Hotsip. "Enea and Hotsip have worked together in many areas during several years and I am convinced that this partnership will result in new and innovative applications for both current and new customers".

"The partnership with Hotsip gives us a set of new strategic opportunities", says Per Johannesson, President of Enea Epact, a consultancy division under the global software company Enea AB. "One of our business strategies is to sharpen our customers competitiveness by providing services developed on the most competitive platforms on the market. Hotsip's SIP/J2EE application server gives us the opportunity to develop services easy to adapt to the customers changing needs. One strength of Enea Epact is the expertise in combining traditional telecommunication with web based information services."
