Google's Mobile Gears

2:05 PM -- Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) just launched a mobile version of Gears, which allows mobile users to access their mobile Web applications when they're offline. This is handy when you're in the middle of an application and you lose your data signal.

To start Google Gears will only work on Windows Mobile 5 and 6 devices, but the Internet giant says it's working on Gears for other platforms, one of which of course is Android. (See Now Wait for Android.)
