9:25 AM -- Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page will soon see themselves depicted on the big screen, just like Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, Deadline reports.

Michael London's Groundswell Productions and producer John Morris have acquired the rights to Ken Auletta's Googled: The End of the World As We Know It, and they plan to make a movie about how Brin and Page "tried to hang onto their idealism as Google became a global phenomenon."

"It's about these two young guys who created a company that changed the world, and how the world in turn changed them," London told Deadline. "The heart of the movie is their wonderful edict, don't be evil. At a certain point in the evolution of a company so big and powerful, there are a million challenges to that mandate. Can you stay true to principles like that as you become as rich and powerful as that company has become? The intention is to be sympathetic to Sergey and Larry, and hopefully the film will be as interesting as the company they created."

Hmm. Doesn't sound quite as juicy as the sex, drugs, and rock 'n' roll of the Facebook movie.

In other news:

  • People magazine has made its iPad app free to subscribers, Fortune reports. Other Time Inc. publications, such as Time, Sports Illustrated, and Fortune itself, are expected to follow suit over the next month.

  • Ads will soon be coming to e-books, The Wall Street Journal predicts. Falling e-book prices and rising production costs are driving publishers to include targeted ads in their e-books, WSJ's Ron Adner and William Vincent write.
