Google Buys Zingku
Zingku's technology will be useful for the company as it develops more mobile advertising and content technology. The firm uses standard text messaging and Web systems to allow people to mobilize and share content such as invitations and flyers with friends. It is easy to see how this could be applicable as Google moves ahead with wireless ads.
This isn't Google's first move into mobile social networking though. The search giant bought Dodgeball in May 2005. The founders of the company left in April 2007, claiming that "Google wasn't supporting Dodgeball the way we expected."
