9:40 AM -- Alcatel-Lucent (NYSE: ALU) announced today a $230 million contract to supply CDMA equipment to China Telecom Corp. Ltd. (NYSE: CHA) in 56 cities through its Chinese company, Alcatel Shanghai Bell Co. Ltd. So, is this the CDMA windfall from China that AlcaLu has been anticipating? (See AlcaLu Looks to China .)
There's more CDMA business likely to be had from the world's largest mobile market. China Telecom plans to spend $11.7 billion over the next three years upgrading its CDMA network.
