LONDON -- BATM (LSE:BVC) announced today about the implementation of the first deal of VoIP services in Israel. Golden Lines, has selected BATM to supply thousands of VoIP devices to its customers.

BATM Advanced Communications, a leader in network edge technology and IP switching platforms, recently signed an exclusive deal with one of Israel’s major service providers, 012 Golden Lines. BATM’s Access 211 VoIP broadband Internet Gateway was chosen exclusively to provide VoIP services to Golden Lines customers.The initial value of the contract is approximately 0.5M$ but will be expanded substantially when a full scale license to offer VoIP services all over Israel, will be provided.

After rigorous testing, Golden Lines has decided to use Sonus’s Gateway, Broadsoft’s Softswitch and BATM’s Access 211 (which will be located in the homes of Golden Line’s customers). Using the Access 211 in this project will give their customers an Internet connection and IP phone service using an analog telephone, at a significant cost reduction.

The Access 211 device allows Golden Lines to offer unique services: Custom calling features such as distinctive ringing, Internet faxing, two telephone ports concurrently supporting advanced compression technology for two different phone numbers, PC connection to the Internet and integrated routing (eliminating the technical problems and costs incurred with an external router). The Access 211 provides superior voice quality even when there is heavy traffic or when several services are being used simultaneously.

Installation at the customer sites began these days.
