Globalcomm 2006: In Pictures

So the first Globalcomm show is done and dusted, and, according to the latest poll results, it absolutely spanked TelecomNext. (See Dueling Tradeshows.)

During the course of the three-day show, there was some fun to be had, such as the annual Light Reading party, as well as the serious business, such as IPO plans, some nuptials, and strategy shifts. (See Infinera: $1B IPO Imminent?, Acme Packet Lines Up IPO, ADVA to Marry Movaz, Nortel, Huawei Kill JV, Ericsson Brings the IPTV, Alcatel Forming Cable Group, and Juniper Tunes Its Ethernet, IPTV Stories.)

So let's concentrate on the party, held this year at Harry Carey's. For the first time in a while, we didn't organize a sports contest, having whipped the cream of the industry at bowling and pool in the past two years. (See LR Rules Supercomm Lanes and LR Hosts/Wins Telecom Pool Tourney.)

That left the partygoers to challenge each other to drinking and flirting contests. We'll leave you to decide who was indulging in which indoor sport as you click your way through the following photos from the party and from all over Globalcomm 2006:
