HERNDON, Va. -- GigaBeam Corporation (NASDAQ: GGBM) announced today that it has sold a WiFiber(TM) link to GMG Solutions Pty Ltd, an Australian builder of wireless networks. The link will be installed in the state of Queensland, Australia to demonstrate the benefits of GigaBeam's new technology for improving the broadband infrastructure in Australia.

Geoff Wood, Managing Director of GMG, said, "We are very pleased to be the first to introduce this advanced new technology. We believe it will be a catalyst for the improvement of broadband communications access throughout Australia. This first link is the centerpiece of a strategy to enhance Australia's communications infrastructure by showcasing the ultra high bandwidth, reliability and superior economics of GigaBeam's WiFiber product."

Lou Slaughter, GigaBeam's Chairman and CEO, added, "We are excited to have made this WiFiber sale to GMG because Australia has been an early and aggressive adopter of high-speed broadband Internet technology. We see substantial demand for our WiFiber wireless fiber products since comparable ultra high-speed wireless technology has not previously been available to meet Australian market requirements."
