Germans Get Gemütlich

1:00 PM -- T-Mobile International AG , Telefónica O2 Germany GmbH & Co. OHG , and Vodafone Germany got the final green light from the German competition authority to go ahead with their mobile TV joint venture to operate a national DVB-H mobile broadcast network in the country. (See Mobile Operators Unite in TV License Bid, Reding Riles Mobile TV Players, and EC Backs DVB-H.)

But the regulator set a few conditions. The operators won't be allowed to bundle DVB-H mobile TV services with their own mobile services. The devices they offer will have to receive other mobile TV standards like DMB. And they will have to offer DVB-H devices other than just mobile phones.

Now all the group needs is to win the license.
