Fresh BlackBerry Juice

4:00 PM -- A new UBS AG report claims that Verizon Wireless is the first with a CDMA BlackBerry Pearl from BlackBerry and will be swiftly followed by launches from Sprint Corp. (NYSE: S) and Telus Mobility this month.

The analysts write that Verizon has started taking orders for the Pearl now and is expected to launch by November 8th. Sprint and Telus are expected to be hard on Verizon's heels with their own Pearls this month.

The Pearl, although somewhat overshadowed by the iPhone this summer, has been a consumer hit for RIM, which traditionally focuses on enterprise users. The $199 phone will increase the choices available at the less expensive end of the CDMA smatphone spectrum and be a serious rival to Motorola Inc. (NYSE: MOT)'s Q and the new Palm Inc. Centro.
