Delivers metro area bandwidth provisioning, accounting, and billing for BigIron Layer 3 Switches

LAS VEGAS -- NetWorld+Interop -- Foundry Networks(R), Inc. (Nasdaq:FDRY), a performance and total solutions leader for end-to-end switching and routing, today announced new Velocity Management module series as part of the BigIron(R) Layer 3 switch family. The Velocity Management One (VM1) module, the first in the Velocity series of management modules, is designed to empower Metro service providers with high performance bandwidth provisioning, accounting and billing capabilities, which in turn enable a new generation of sophisticated, revenue-generating Metro services.

"Foundry's Global Ethernet Metro solutions, which include long haul Gigabit Ethernet (up to 150km), and Super VLAN aggregation, enable us to build high performance Metro networks and offer cost-effective broadband IP connectivity to our customers," said Terrence Wong, Manager, Network Technology Development at Stream Intelligent Networks.
