MURRAY HILL, N.J. -- Lucent Technologies (NYSE: LU - News) today announced that FiberNet, a West-Virginia-based telecommunications company has selected Lucent's Accelerate(TM) Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) solution to provide VoIP solutions over Broadband connections to residential customers in West Virginia and to offer new services to its strong embedded base of business and state government customers.

Lucent's Accelerate(TM) solution allows FiberNet to provide its customers -- both large and small -- with IP Centrex applications such as voice virtual private networks, virtual contact centers, unified communications, and key features that customers have come to rely on including caller ID, call transfer and conference calling.

The VoIP services are available over cable modem, DSL, T1 and Ethernet connections.
