SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Neoteris*, Inc., the leading Application Security Gateway vendor with more than 550 enterprise customers and one million users worldwide, today announced it is the overwhelming market share leader in the SSL VPN products market, according to Frost & Sullivan's "World SSL VPN Products Market" report published this week. In addition to a thorough evaluation of SSL VPN market drivers and restraints, the report publishes the market share comparisons for 1H'03 of the leading SSL VPN product vendors.

According to Frost & Sullivan, Neoteris garnered 36 percent market share within the SSL VPN product category during 1H'03. The first-of-its-kind report included coverage of more than 25 vendors in the SSL VPN market category, and ranked them according to market share results. The closest vendor to Neoteris trails with only 13 percent of the industry's market share. As a result of this performance, Neoteris has also earned the coveted Frost & Sullivan Market Leadership Award as the clear market leader.

"Neoteris is the dominating force in the SSL VPN product market, leading with a 36 percent market share, more than 20 percentage points ahead of the closest competitor," stated the report, authored by Jason Wright, Frost & Sullivan industry analyst, Communications & Information Technology Group. "Neoteris was the first to introduce SSL VPN product technology to the market, and has been leveraging its first mover advantage since that introduction. Neoteris has done almost everything bigger, better, and faster than the competition. Neoteris is easily the most visible player in this market, in which the company has led by example. It has raced ahead of the rest of the market so quickly that Frost & Sullivan predicts that Neoteris will maintain its market leadership position in the face of the competition."

Enterprises worldwide have selected the Neoteris Access Series* because it enables them to cost-effectively deploy full-featured secure access to their mobile knowledge workers and authorized partners without the cost, complexity, and usability problems found with prior-generation access technologies and less mature SSL-based access appliances.

Wright attributes Neoteris' market leadership to superior execution over the competition in a number of critical areas - including rapid global expansion and ramp up of distribution channels; development work with best-of-breed technology partners; providing superior product support; expansion of its product portfolio to deliver differentiated product lines to address many types of customers; marketing to specific vertical markets; and continuous development and improvement of its product technology, including offering important competitive differentiators such as clientless wireless access support and high availability/seamless failover.

"While many companies claim market leadership, we are pleased to see our industry leadership confirmed by Frost & Sullivan in this SSL VPN report, the first report to focus strictly on our emerging product category and vendors' market shares," said Neoteris President and CEO Krishna "Kittu" Kolluri. "This award is a recognition of our clarity of vision, our winning strategy, and our flawless execution on all fronts - including continuous product innovation, rapid expansion of sales and distribution, superior inbound and outbound marketing, world-class technology partnerships, and terrific customer service."
