LONDON -- Telehouse, a leading provider of global data centres & managed ICT services and subsidiary of KDDI, has announced the appointment of Hiroshi Kobayashi as the new Managing Director of its European Division. Kobayashi-san succeeds Tokuji Mitsui and will be based in London, the European headquarters.

With a background in data communication engineering and sales, Kobayashi-san was Head of Operations at KDDI Corporation in Japan. During his time in this role he dealt with a variety of career-defining challenges including the 2011 Japanese earthquake and tsunami disaster, making every effort to recover KDDI's mobile and fixed networks to minimise the effects to its 37 million users in Japan.

Under his new role Mr Kobayashi will carry on overseeing Telehouse's EMEA expansion and development. In the past couple of years Telehouse has expanded its facilities in London and Paris and set up new facilities in South Africa, Istanbul and in January 2012 acquired Databurg, one of Germany's largest colocation sites based in central Frankfurt.
