Ethernet Europe 2010 Preview

5:15 PM -- On April 12 and 13, hundreds of industry professionals will gather at The London Marriott Grosvenor Hotel for Light Reading’s Ethernet Europe 2010, one of the largest networking events in EMEA focused on Carrier Ethernet services and technology. Forty-five carrier Ethernet service providers, network solutions providers, and industry organizations from around the world are directly participating in this year’s event.

Here is a preview of what to expect from the show:

Key Topics & Session Formats. The keynotes and sessions at this year’s event will focus on three major topics: (1) innovative Carrier Ethernet business services solutions for enterprise users; (2) Carrier Ethernet wholesale services and interconnection developments and trends; and (3) next-generation Carrier Ethernet, MPLS, and packet-optical technologies and OAM solutions used to support high-performance business, wholesale, residential, and mobile backhaul services and applications. This year’s sessions are designed to be both educational and engaging for the audience – with more time devoted to real-world case studies, heated debates, and questions & answers than in past shows.

Keynote Lineup. We are delighted with our keynote lineup, which includes: (1) Dennis Kruse, MEF Chairman & VP of Network Solutions, Orange Business Services; (2) Jarrett Appleby, Chief Marketing Officer, Equinix; (3) Rajiv Data, Senior VP & Chief Technology Officer, AboveNet; (4) Andy Sutton, Principal Design Consultant, Transport Networks – CNDD, Orange UK; and (5) Matthew Finnie, Chief Technology Officer, Interoute. Our guest keynote speakers have been heavily involved in shaping the development and direction of the Carrier Ethernet industry and have demonstrated commitment to delivering innovative solutions for their customers.

Leading Carrier Ethernet Network Solutions Providers. Twenty-two network hardware, software, and component suppliers will be spotlighting their newest solutions for building, scaling, and maintaining Carrier Ethernet-based networks. This includes platinum sponsors Alcatel-Lucent, ANDA, and JDSU, as well as Actelis, ADVA, BTI Systems, Canoga Perkins, Ciena, EXFO, Hatteras, InfoVista, Metaswitch Networks, Omnitron Systems, Overture, RAD, Sunrise Telecom, Transition Networks, Transmode, Allied Telesis, MRV, Spirent, and Telent.

Advanced Global Interconnect Test Program. Light Reading has partnered with EANTC, ancotel, the MEF, and sponsors Alcatel-Lucent, Spirent, and MRV to create a service provider interoperability test and showcase program for 2010. These companies will be working with Belgacom, Equinix, expereo, Level 3, P&T Luxembourg, Teragate, Tinet, and Vega to hold a global interconnection demonstration at Ethernet Europe. The demonstration will focus on how operators can: (1) map Carrier Ethernet service offerings to those of other service providers; (2) efficiently interconnect with many partners; (3) manage a wholesale Ethernet service end-to-end using advanced CPE; and (4) provide and verify service-level agreements (SLAs) across interconnects.

We look forward to seeing you in London. Be sure to check out the Ethernet Europe 2010 site for show updates, a detailed agenda, and information on sponsoring and participating companies.
