Fifth-largest US carrier is using Hatteras gear for Ethernet-over-copper and Ethernet-over-TDM

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. -– Hatteras Networks, the global leaderin multi-service Ethernet solutions for enterprise access services and next-generation mobilebackhaul, announced today that Windstream Corporation (Nasdaq: WIN), the fifth-largest carrierin the United States, has standardized upon and deployed a Hatteras Networks solution forEthernet service delivery over both copper (EoC) and Time Division Multiplexing (EoTDM)infrastructure. The unified Hatteras Networks solution, the HN6100, delivering up to 40 Gbps ofbandwidth, enables delivery of any Ethernet service over any media.

At the heart of Hatteras Networks’ unified solution is the award-winning HN6100, theindustry’s first modular, multi-service platform designed to enable rollout of any carrier Ethernetservice, over any media, via any port or slot, from one compact, 40 Gbps, two-rack-unit, ultradensechassis.
