Transmode's new 10x Gigabit Ethernet Muxponder multiplexes up to 10 full line rate Gigabit Ethernet signals

HANNOVER, Germany -- Transmode's new 10x Gigabit Ethernet Muxponder multiplexes up to 10 full line rate Gigabit Ethernet signals into a single 10 Gbit/s wavelength allowing users maximum flexibility and efficiency for Gigabit Ethernet based Optical Transport networks. Via a unique coding mechanism, the Transmode solution offers full rate Gigabit Ethernet connectivity at significantly lower cost than competing solutions without rate limiting any client signal.

Using pluggable SFP and XFP optics on both client and line ports, the 10x Gigabit Ethernet Muxponder offers users industry leading flexibility and the lowest total cost of ownership. The new plug-in unit supports many advanced networking features such as embedded management channel and Performance Monitoring of both Line and Client signals, including client port utilization data.

"This additional functionality within the TM-3000 Series platform greatly enhances customer flexibility and has already achieved considerable traction with customers such as NetCologne in Germany," said Patrik Von Matern, Transmode's Director of Product Management.

The Transmode TM-3000 series provides users with a common set of C/DWDM Transponders and Muxponders over a range of three chassis options from high capacity 10u chassis to 1u chassis for access nodes. The TM-3000 series supports a range of single and dual fibre configurations providing transport solutions for regional and national networks to metro and campus networks.
