Sheehan: Overture & Out

Phil Harvey
12/20/2011

Two top executives that formerly led Hatteras Networks Inc. have left Overture Networks Inc. , the company announced Tuesday.

Former Hatteras CEO Kevin Sheehan and Overture CTO Matt Squire, formerly of Hatteras, have both left the company. Overture says the departures are part of its ongoing global growth strategy, but a source close to the company suggests to Light Reading the pair were let go.

Our source also says Overture's SVP of Engineering Prayson Pate has been promoted to take the CTO job.

Overture, which merged with Hatteras this year, is still led by CEO Jeff Reedy. (See Overture & Hatteras Gang Up on Carrier Ethernet.)

Sheehan had nothing to do with this while at Hatteras.

But you don't care do you?

I think both are ultra-competitive in the EoC equipment space. Anyone know how they stack up against one another in terms of market share?

I can only speak for Australia/NZ where Hatteras (Overture) would be 80%; or, if Optus hasnt lit up its miserable EoC attempt - 100%

Okay, we'll give Overture Australia and NZ. Anyone else know how those two firms are squaring off in the rest of the world?
