MONTREAL -- Continuing the expansion of its fiber optic transmission, Ethernet and Access product portfolio, Positron, Inc. is pleased to announce that it has acquired Aktino Inc., the developer of carrier class MIMO (multiple input, multiple output) over Discrete Multitone (DMT) bonded copper solutions. This technology delivers very cost effective long-reach and high-bandwidth Ethernet and DS3 services over copper infrastructure with the same reliability as fiber infrastructure.

“Aktino’s MIMO-DMT technology and products are deployed by major carriers to deliver fiber-like SLA’s,” explains Claude Brisson, COO of Positron Inc. “By leveraging existing copper infrastructure, the Aktino solution enables carriers to deploy Ethernet and DS3 services faster while obtaining fiber-like bandwidth on a copper budget.”
