MAHWAH, N.J. and MUNICH -- ADVA Optical Networking today announced that it has launched the latest member of its market-leading FSP 150 family of intelligent Ethernet access products - the FSP 150CCf-825. This new product is one of the world's first carrier-class next-generation Ethernet access solutions, delivering previously unattainable levels of service demarcation, strict monitoring of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and advanced remote Operations, Administration and Maintenance (OAM). Featuring the latest Etherjack® technology, the FSP 150CCf will become the flagship member of the FSP 150 family and has already been selected for deployment in BT's 21st Century Network (21CN).

The enhanced FSP 150CCf offers service providers an Ethernet access product that can inter-work seamlessly with a number of core technologies, including Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) switching, Provider Backbone Bridging-Traffic Engineering (PBB-TE) and Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS). A service-agnostic approach such as this enables universal service demarcation at the customer premise, providing demarcation regardless of the network transport technology being used. Universal demarcation will have a significant impact on service providers' capital expenditures (CAPEX), enabling them to use one demarcation technology for multiple network signals, whether this be Synchronous Optical Network (SONET)/Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH), MPLS or other.

"The FSP 150CCf-825 represents an innovation in Ethernet access solutions," commented Brian P. McCann, ADVA Optical Networking's chief marketing and strategy officer. "With this product we are able to deliver the most advanced Carrier Ethernet service demarcation available on the market today and thereby remove the final barriers for service providers to move from legacy technologies. The FSP 150CCf is a true next-generation platform that no other equipment vendor can provide today."
