WALTHAM, Mass. -- Emperative, the leading provider of on-demand network and service provisioning software, today announced its participation in the “Optical Gigabit Ethernet Management” Catalyst project at the TeleManagement World conference held next week in Nice, France. Emperative provides its ProvEn Optical application for the project’s provisioning of Gigabit Ethernet services delivered over SONET/SDH networks."Dynamic, burstable bandwidth will be the foundation for future service offerings," says Deb Mielke, Principal of Treillage Network Strategies, Inc. "Traditional metro-SONET/SDH networks have been too rigid to make this possible. But solutions, such as this Catalyst project, demonstrate the viability of existing technology for delivering flexibly provisioned services billed on a more granular basis."The project has been sponsored by two of the world’s leading carriers: British Telecom and France Telecom (NYSE: WFA). The Catalyst team includes Cisco Systems, Daleen Technologies (NASDAQ: DALN), Emperative, Extreme Networks (NASDAQ: EXTR), LINMOR Technologies (TSE: LIR), Quallaby, Satyam Computer Services (NASDAQ: SAY), and Sun Microsystems, Inc.Emperative Inc.
