WALTHAM, Mass. -- eDial, Inc., a leading provider of SIP-based feature servers that enable service providers to quickly develop and deploy rich communications and collaboration services, today announced the availability of Advanced Communications Server(TM) 5.0 (ACS), an open, service provider-ready platform that combines the power of the existing telephony infrastructure with next generation IP networks. With the latest release of ACS, service providers can now offer their customers premium services such as audio and web conferencing, broadcast messaging, instant messaging and presence-based services.

ACS is a secure SIP-based feature server for control, management and reporting of enhanced telephone communications including mixtures of two-party calls, conferences and broadcasts, PSTN and IP telephones and networks, and audio and web conferencing with instant messaging and presence. The latest version is targeted at service providers, major enterprises, and systems integrators, providing critical scalability, call control and management, and auditing capabilities, with open interfaces for rapid integration and deployment.

"Carriers today are seeking to reduce customer churn and increase revenue without additional equipment or integration costs," said Michael Osterman, president and founder, Osterman Research. "The latest version of eDial's ACS helps service providers build upon the capabilities already residing in the PSTN and IP networks by expanding conferencing, IM and browser support with additional management features on the back end. Using ACS should enable carriers to generate additional revenue streams today."
