GHENT, Belgium -- The Euro-CableLabs (ECL) Certification Board announces that it granted Euro-DOCSIS 2.0 qualification to one cable modem embedded in a DVB-C set-top box and certification to one stand-alone cable modem. In this wave, the first two policy servers were Euro-PacketCable Multimedia qualified by the Board. A CMS was also Euro-PacketCable qualified.

The ECL Certification Board granted Euro-DOCSIS 2.0 qualification to the Philips DCR1001/10, a cable modem embedded in a DVB-C set-top box. The Hitron BRG-3520T ED standalone cable modem was Euro-DOCSIS 2.0 certified.

The CMS SURPASS hiQ8000 of Siemens obtained Euro-PacketCable qualification. For the first time two policy servers received Euro-PacketCable Multimedia qualification: the ODSP Policy Server from CableMatrix and QBUS Multimedia Service Controller from Camiant.

The ECL Certification Board welcomed Com Hem, the largest cable operator in Sweden, as a new member. The board now consists of 13 European cable operators (Casema, Com Hem, Essent, Ewt Breitbandnetze, Ish, Liwest, Netcologne, NTL, Tele Columbus, Telenet, Telewest, TV Cabo and UPC).

The ECL Certification Board grants certification to Euro-DOCSIS 1.0, 1.1 and 2.0 compliant cable modems, and the qualified status to CMTS equipment and cable modems in DVB-C set-top boxes, based on lab tests completed by tComLabs. The Board grants Euro-PacketCable certification to E-MTAs, as well as Euro-PacketCable qualification to E-MTAs in DVB-C set-top boxes, CMTS, CMS, MG and IPAT equipment, and Euro-PacketCable Multimedia qualification to CMTS and Policy Server equipment, on the basis of the tests executed by tComLabs.
