CSR Dismisses IPO Talk

Anyone expecting an IPO from Bluetooth trailblazer Cambridge Silicon Radio plc (CSR) in the near future shouldn't hold their breath. CSR has dismissed media reports of a public listing before the end of this year as "pure speculation."

"We have no immediate plans," says communications manager Alan Woolhouse, adding that "CSR never comments on market rumors of a possible IPO." [Ed. note: Never say never, Alan. In fact, wasn't that first sentence a comment?]

CSR has been at the forefront of the single-chip Bluetooth market since 1999, and has secured $85 million in funding over four rounds from VC firms LDC and Scottish Equity Partners (see CSR Raises $19M and Funding: Startup Roundup).

Last year the company was listed seventh in Unstrung's Top 25 Startups poll, following successful early deals with Microsoft Corp. (Nasdaq: MSFT) and 3Com Corp. (Nasdaq: COMS).
