LONDON -- Cramer, a market leader in Operation Support Systems (OSS) for telecommunication companies, has announced that leading Indian Telco and Internet services provider Videsh Sanchar Nigam Ltd. (VSNL) and sister company Tata Teleservices Ltd. (TTSL) have purchased its inventory-powered automation solution to underpin the Centralised Network Management System (CNMS) deployment. The implementation is believed to be a world first, in terms of scope of implementation, for companies of the size of VSNL and TTSL since the project includes not only Configuration and Inventory Management but also Fault and Performance Management.

As VSNL and TTSL explore new product lines and service offerings, Cramer's OSS software will automate the provision of critical information needed to roll out new services with greater speed, less cost and with a higher degree of customer satisfaction. As part of the programme, the companies wanted to improve operational efficiencies in the back office by establishing a CNMS with unified resource management.

VSNL and TTSL, in their move to make significant savings in effective resource utilisation and deployment chose Cramer's solution, which is expected to bring an improved level of management and understanding.

"VSNL and TTSL are extremely successful companies of the renowned Tata Group, taking a proactive approach to increasing market competition," explains Jon Craton, founder and CEO of Cramer. "By looking at back office efficiency, they will not only reduce direct costs but also significantly improve the operational efficiency of networks".

LONDON -- Cramer today announced the successful deployment of its inventory powered automation solution at Deutsche Telekom majority-owned unit Slovak Telecom (ST), a.s., Slovakia's leading wireline provider.

ST is using Cramer to achieve three strategic objectives - improved management of the access network, increased focus on high-margin value-added services and reduced operational expenses.

Cramer replaced 34 legacy access network inventory systems with a single unified solution that serves today's network and service provisioning requirements for POTS, ISDN and ADSL services, and will provide the operations platform for IP/MPLS, VoIP and other future IP-based services.

ST's immediate need was to streamline provisioning of mass-market voice services throughout its access network and to have precisely-recorded access network inventory information.

Based on its success, ST plans to extend its use of Cramer across diverse technology and service domains including IP, SDH, ATM, Frame Relay and next generation network services.

Cramer Founder Jon Craton said: "Cramer is increasingly being seen by service providers as an essential part of their strategies for convergence. The reason is our ability to seamlessly manage both old and new technologies within one application. This gives operators a much smoother, lower risk, transition to providing next generation services, whatever pace they want to transition at."

"Cramer is at the centre of a completely new, enterprise-wide OSS solution for managing network assets at ST," said Ralf Mittag, Vice President for Service Provisioning and Infrastructure. "We set out to gain competitive advantage through a 100% commitment to customer focus, and with Cramer we are well on the way."
