DUBLIN -- Corvil, a leader in bandwidth quality analysis and control for predictable network performance at optimal cost, today announced the general availability of its core agent technology for millisecond measurement and quantification of bandwidth quality on packet-switched networks within Cisco IOS® Software on Cisco 800 to 7200 routers, including the latest family of Cisco Integrated Services Routers (ISRs).

The Corvil Bandwidth agent in Cisco IOS Software provides network managers with a fundamental breakthrough in the ability to design and control Quality of Service to deliver predictable performance for data, video and voice applications over IP, leveraging existing Cisco QoS functionality in the network infrastructure. The unique innovation of Corvil Bandwidth technology lies in its ability to detect network events with millisecond granularity and to compute in real-time the bandwidth required to achieve statistically-defined latency, jitter and packet loss targets for any application.

Donal Byrne, Corvil President & CEO, stated, “The availability of the Corvil Bandwidth agent in Cisco IOS Software is central to providing a fully scalable solution to intelligent instrumentation of the network that does not require an additional box deployed at every branch office location. Our customers will now be able to use the Corvil product suite transparently across both Cisco IOS Software routers and Corvil appliances to monitor, analyze and control bandwidth quality for their entire network from large data centers to smaller remote sites.”
