SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO) today announced that its carrier-class uBR10012 Cable Modem Termination System (CMTS) has received qualification for Data-Over-Cable Service Interface Specification (DOCSISTM) 1.1, following closely on the heels of the recent qualification of the Cisco uBR7246VXR. With this qualification Cisco becomes the only company with multiple DOCSIS 1.1 qualified CMTS systems. "The DOCSIS 1.1 qualification process is a critical part of the industry's progress toward enabling the support of advanced IP services such as VoIP," said Carson Chen, vice president of Cisco's cable business unit. "The DOCSIS 1.1 qualification of the uBR7246 CMTS router and now the uBR10012 helps our cable customers to feel confident that their investment in existing and future network and service deployments can be optimized."
