Cisco 2.0

12:45 PM -- Listening to the Webcast of the Cisco Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: CSCO) analyst day. CEO John Chambers is giving his usual talk. He's got several good points -- such as the second wave of Internet transformation coming -- but as we've noted before, he's said most of it before. (See Chambers at NXTcomm.)

Chambers says that a year from now, he expects to do most of his customer contact via TelePresence, and he says that will double the (already substantial) amount of his customer contact.

He's also repeating a story from Cisco's "Networkers Live!" event, telling how his wife wouldn't let him install TelePresence in the bedroom. And that's about all I really want to say or hear about that.

Chambers is now saying "Cisco 2.0" to describe the New Cisco, powered by TelePresence and wikis and all these Web 2.0 collaboration tricks. He's a believer.
