Chambers Strolls the Crowd
He has this almost evangelical speaking style, which involves a purposeful stroll into the audience -- accompanied by loads of closeup eye contact (and sometimes even a touch of a shoulder).
See this photo from the Cisco Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: CSCO) Analyst Day, held this week, if you don't know what I'm talking about.
Chambers engages the audience and, no doubt, keeps them hooked on his every word. But I wonder if his roaming makes some folks uncomfortable. They could be sitting there drawing doodles on a notebook and... "Oh, my gosh! He's coming right this way!"
Perhaps the point -- and Chambers' victory -- is that I'm asking the question to begin with. How many other telecom speakers make that memorable of an impression these days?
