STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- C-COR Incorporated (Nasdaq: CCBL), a global provider of interoperable solutions that simplify the transition to on demand networks, announced it has expanded the CableEdgeR Solution Suite with the introduction of the Web Service Connector, a new web-based internal portal that increases a service provider's efficiency by offering a single integrated interface for monitoring, analyzing, and verifying high speed data (HSD) services and infrastructure in real-time. UPC Broadband, Liberty Global's European distribution operation, is deploying C-COR's CableEdge Web Service Connector in Europe over the coming months.

The increasing complexity and number of applications and consumer devices that interact with the high speed data infrastructure present service providers with challenges in providing accurate and timely information to their customer support organizations. The CableEdge Web Service Connector is built specifically to meet these challenges. It streamlines the integration with third party applications by providing an open interface to both real-time and historical data elements of the DOCSISR network that can be easily incorporated into consumer call center applications. This tool brings together performance and fault management information with call center data, thereby reducing the possibility of service disruption to end users in the home. The design of C-COR's Web Service Connector addresses the performance needs of both centralized and distributed organizations, enabling the service provider to reduce truck rolls, increase support technician productivity, and improve customer satisfaction.

"The addition of this new capability to the CableEdge suite now offers service providers with an efficient way to access and standardize information critical to managing the volume of consumer devices and applications making demands on their HSD network," said Michael Pohl, President, C-COR Solutions. "Our work with UPC has resulted in a unified interface that consolidates back office operations and allows for deeper analysis of network data, giving operators a consistent currency for the comparison of data across the organization."
