Skyrr picks BroadSoft's BroadWorks VOIP application software; Broadsoft adds support for IBM Blade Servers running Linux

GAITHERSBURG, Md. -- BroadSoft(R), the leading provider of VoIP application software, today announced that Skyrr, Iceland's second largest ISP, has selected BroadSoft's BroadWorks(R) VoIP application software to support its hosted VoIP service offering. Mixing the latest in next-generation features with competitive pricing, Skyrr's VoIP service will launch in Iceland in November 2005.

Skyrr will offer its business customers a bundled VoIP services solution over a single broadband connection to the Skyrr network. By using BroadSoft's BroadWorks platform, Skyrr will be able to offer a wide range of advanced features that enable its customers to:

  • Improve productivity with a voice virtual private network (VPN) that offers site-to-site calling, private dial plans, and support for mobile workers

  • Improve customer service with a personalized and professional auto-attendant greeting that seamlessly connects callers to employees anywhere, on any phone

  • From easy-to-use web portals, empower employees to manage advanced features such as selective call forwarding, click-to-dial Microsoft Outlook contacts, and remote office calling



GAITHERSBURG, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 10, 2005--BroadSoft, Inc., the leading provider of VoIP application software, today announced that its BroadWorks® VoIP application suite will run on IBM eServer BladeCenter and xSeries systems running the Linux operating system.

Under an agreement between the two companies, the BroadWorks VoIP application platform will support the IBM eServer BladeCenter, BladeCenter T family of products and selected xSeries Telecommunications servers, including the x343 and x336.

The Solution is now generally available. As part of the agreement, BroadSoft and IBM will also work together on sales, marketing, product development and other business development initiatives.

The combination of the BroadWorks VoIP application software running on the IBM BladeCenter T platform provides clients a highly-dense, scalable, industry standard carrier-grade solution. They also gain the kind of price/performance leadership required to meet the needs of service providers deploying VoIP solutions to help reduce costs and accelerate revenue generation.
