CHELMSFORD, Mass. -- Brix Networks (www.brixnet.com), the trusted provider of real-time service assurance solutions for real-time networks, today introduced a new release of its Advanced Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) Performance Test Suite for the company's BrixWorx (TM) service assurance software system that enables end-to-end performance management of enterprise and service provider VoIP networks. Version 2.0 of the Advanced VoIP Performance Test Suite features Brix MOS (TM), Brix Networks' standards-based, real-time, call-quality index, and also adds a new Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) Service Active Test, which continuously verifies the VoIP network performance and availability of IP phones and other end point locations from call origination to termination. "Our Advanced VoIP Performance Suite actively tests networks by simulating calls and other transactions," noted Jamie Warter, vice president of marketing and business development, at Brix Networks. "Active testing is an essential element of VoIP performance management, as testing around the clock can proactively identify degradations in service levels -- even when customers are not making calls."
