NEW ORLEANS -- Volo Communications, a leading nationwide wholesale provider of advanced voice and data services, announced today that, once again, it has broken new ground for the VoIP (Voice Over IP) industry. Volo has successfully completed a month-long test of VoIP services over fixed wireless with Blue Wave Networks, who is now offering VoIP services commercially using Volo's VoiceOneT carrier-quality broadband voice services solution. Blue Wave Networks, who offers residential and business customers a variety of Internet access and data services throughout the Chicago area, is now able to expand its service offering to include nationwide voice services.

"Thanks to Volo's VoiceOne network and services, we are now able to expand our product offering to include voice services and expand our footprint to a national level," said Blue Wave Networks Marketing Director Antony van Zyl. "One of the reasons we chose Volo as a VoIP partner for our commercial offering is the tremendous support we received during the trial, which we conducted in Chicago during the month of January in extreme weather conditions - and it worked perfectly. We also selected Volo because of their superior quality network, the network interface tools, and their integration of hosted services and applications," he said.

Volo Senior Director of Marketing John Wind commented, "We are thrilled with the results of our fixed wireless trial with Blue Wave, and will continue to penetrate the wireless market with service providers like them who are not dependent upon local access facilities. Wireless providers own the last mile to the customer, so they can rapidly deploy new services and ensure quality of service." Wind added, "Wireless VoIP creates the perfect on-net play when combined with quality network and broadband voice solutions from Volo."
