Beer 'n' Broadband
For the annual beer fest, the German operator will soup up its 3G mobile broadband network to trial Evolved High-Speed Packet Access (HSPA+) at 28 Mbit/s using equipment from Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. , according to O2 Germany's VP of network development, Reinhard Herr.
Herr announced the trial plans at Huawei's Mobile User Congress customer event in Munich last week and explained that the operator wants to show the high-speed network to some of its business customers. He said O2 will bring those services to market after the trial and will share trial findings with other operators in the Telefónica group.
