LONDON -- Azure Solutions, the revenue-assurance company, today revealed that it has set an interconnect-benchmarking record of more than 2 billion CDRs in a day using Azure Interconnect version 9.0, the latest version of its award-winning interconnect system and bureau service. During a 24-hour test, using live call detail records (CDRs), Azure Interconnect version 9.0 sustained a throughput of 90 million CDRs per hour using a 16-way HP server with 32GB RAM. This equated to 5.63 million CDRs per hour per CPU, whilst simultaneously maintaining a fully supported enterprise reporting structure, easily meeting the requirements of a tier-1 operator.

Working in conjunction with HP and BT Global Services, the benchmark involved taking live CDRs from BT Global Services, migrating its core reference data and processing a series of events from the interconnect billing switches, thus representing true-to-life business conditions.

Azure Interconnect version 9.0 allows operators to analyse call data, bill more accurately and verify interconnect traffic between themselves and other network partners. It combines proven high-volume carrier-grade functionality with rich features and next-generation settlement functions, providing current-generation and next-generation operators with a flexible and effective platform to manage complex interconnect agreements and react quickly to changes. Azure Interconnect version 9.0 enables operators to rate and bill for IP/VoIP services in addition to traditional voice services.

Prajay Shah, CIO at Azure Solutions, said: "This benchmark is a quantum leap in performance allowing large tier-1 operator volumes to be processed within a few hours on an operator's platform of choice. This, combined with the next-generation features of Azure Interconnect version 9.0, will enable operators to offer innovative services to customers in the knowledge that event data is being processed quickly and accurately."
