SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Juniper Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq:JNPR - News) today announced that the AvantGo® mobile Internet service from iAnywhere Solutions, a subsidiary of Sybase (NYSE:SY - News), has deployed Juniper Networks M20 routers to rapidly and efficiently funnel traffic through its network, and the Juniper Networks ISG 2000 and NetScreen-5GT firewall/VPN integrated security appliances to secure and assure data traversing the network.

"We selected Juniper Networks routers because of their reliability and ease-of-use," said Mike Polter, senior network engineer, AvantGo at iAnywhere. "In all the time AvantGo has been running the Juniper products, we have never had a failure with our M20 routers. Based on this solid track record, iAnywhere decided to implement the ISG 2000 integrated firewall and VPN platform."

In an effort to improve network reliability and stability, the AvantGo service replaced its existing network infrastructure with the Juniper Networks M20 routers to assure stable and unwavering delivery control. Juniper Networks M20 multi-service edge routers offer 25.6 Gbps of aggregate half-duplex throughput, as well as four flexible PIC concentrator (FPC) slots with 3.2 Gbps throughput per slot.

In addition, the AvantGo Web operations team will deploy the Juniper Networks ISG 2000 firewall/VPN appliances, which provide high-end firewall/VPN capabilities with robust security features and scalability that complement the M20 routers. The ISG 2000s are deployed in high availability, active/passive mode and provide scalable network and application security, IPSec virtual private network (VPN) and DoS capabilities. The ISG 2000 delivers unmatched small packet performance, up to 2Gbps firewall and 1Gbps VPN, as well as flexibility and scalability to combat today's and tomorrow's sophisticated threats.

The Web operations team also relies on Juniper Networks' NetScreen-5GT firewall/VPNs for remote administration and enhanced threat control, leveraging integrated network- and application-level protection to protect the network from malicious attacks.
