GOTHENBURG, Sweden -- AT&T has been selected by the Volvo Group, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of heavy commercial vehicles and diesel engines, as its networking provider for North America.

The two-year multimillion-dollar agreement (with an option for an extension for a third year) extends the existing commercial relationship between the two companies. AT&T will provide the Volvo Group with a communications infrastructure supporting a variety of data and voice communications services, including connectivity throughout the United States to 380 sites, 55 Canadian locations and five key plants in Mexico.

In addition AT&T is supporting transatlantic connectivity for the company between its North American locations in Greensboro NC, and Allentown PA and the company corporate headquarters in Sweden, and with high resilience and robust connectivity for its operations throughout the Americas. This high bandwidth and secure network will ensure the company has in place an infrastructure to support business continuity requirements.
