AT&T Femto Twitter Leak Pulled

An AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) employee's Twitter posts about a limited launch for the carrier's 3G femtocell have now disappeared from his page.

The Twitter posts Unstrung quoted in our original story have vanished since the article was posted yesterday afternoon. AT&T retail manager Gerald Turney had originally written a couple of posts about the long-awaited "Microcell" on September 16. (See Look for AT&T's Femto 'Soft Launch' Soon.) Turney had written that he attended a training session for "the mini cell tower in your house" in the morning. "AT&T 3G Microcell launching soon in a few locations in NC & GA," he wrote later that Wednesday.

These posts have now been expunged from Turney's page.

Nonetheless, an Unstrung source has already suggested that the 3G femtocell will see a soft launch in Seattle and San Antonio as well as other cities soon. AT&T has said previously that it is testing the boxes and expects to launch them nationwide by the end of the year. (See AT&T on Track for Femto Launch.)
