Are We Not Men?
Technically, the client isn't Devo, but the Warner Bros. Records puppetmasters who hold the purse strings behind the Devo resurrection. Eos is the basis for the new Club Devo Website, which apparently includes all kinds of social features yet to be tapped. (For instance, band members are apparently going to create their own content but haven't yet.)
It's hard to know how Devo feels about this. Gerald Casale, one of the lead singers, started his own Twitter account, which augments the corporate Devo account but also seems to take swings at the business, using phrases like "label hell." And, apparently, Warner has kept a Web-based song study on the shelf for about a month (it's due to finally launch tomorrow).
Devo members -- Casale in particular -- have been open about their disdain for the record industry. I doubt the industry has gotten any nicer, but I still hope it goes better for them this time around.
