Apple's 'Mazing Mobile Market

4:40 PM -- Check out this piece from our sibling site, Internet Evolution, on the success of the Apple Inc. (Nasdaq: AAPL) iPhone SDK in its first week of launch: Apple’s Amazing Mobile, Internet Sales Ecosystem. In it, Alan Reiter gives a neat overview of the triumphs and challenges before Apple in the mobile world.

He outlines one of the major complaints against the new code launch -- that it seems impossible to run multiple third-party apps at the same time on the iPhone. I'm not hugely convinced that this is an absolute deal-breaker for the average consumer, but I can see how it's become so more over time as people want to use their phones more as they would a desktop computer. There are a couple of other curious anomalies as well, particularly if Apple is serious about breaking into the enterprise business. Apparently this release, while enabling much tougher encryption on the phone, doesn't allow it be remotely wiped if the phone is lost or stolen.
