AAPL makes $73M in profit a day and that is not enough for Wall Street analysts?

Most companies would be happy with making $50M a day or so. Seems investing in that sort of enterprise would be safe enough for the short term, doesn't it?

Apple has a sort an immunity to being lumped into the whole evil greedy company mix. Weird that they're biggest fans don't see the company as this decade's Microsoft.

And, hey, if MSFT hadn't dropped the ball with Vista and its mobile strategy, I'd still be a wall-to-wall MSFT guy. These days I'm happier with the new Microsoft. :)

Don't confuse Wall Street with logic.  The market has no rules, only irrationality these daze.

Consumers, worldwide, deferred buying iPhones at the end of Q4 because they knew a cool new device was coming out soon. That explains the top and bottom line miss. And it explains the record breaking (more than 2x the last record) sales of the 4S in the first week-end.

Now, fun speculations. Will the 4S convert Android phone users to Apple? Just a question.

Hey Fred

Yeah, that's my take, I'm also struggling to find any instance of Apple management actually actively saying that no iPhone 5 was coming, maybe they winked at it somehow.

Yup, Apple did not deny the iPhone rumors, nor the LTE rumors (AFAIK). But once you start commenting on rumors, you lose control. Apple likes to be in control. And, they also love to make the whole world wait for their announcements. That creates $100's of M's of free advertising.
