EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- Allot Communications, the traffic management company, today announced that its sales have tripled within the last 24 months, due to a variety of factors, including: enhancements to its technology; stronger demand from enterprises, carriers and service providers; the addition of 600 new customers; new strategic alliances; and the company's continued ability to garner industry awards and accolades.

In the most recent 12 months, Allot has seen increased demand for traffic-management solutions in its primary markets - solutions for carriers and service providers and enterprise networks:

  • Service control solution for carriers and service providers: Providers of IP access services, including residential subscribers, offering cable, DSL, satellite, cellular and fixed-wireless networks, continually strive to increase their Average Revenue per User (ARPU), through the delivery of new services. These services include: individual subscriber service level control; voice over IP services; the delivery of on-demand, high-quality video streaming; on-line gaming; control of Peer-to-Peer (P2P) traffic; and the collection of usage information for smarter billing plans. Each of these offering requires traffic management technology - and service providers are turning to Allot's carrier-grade, fault-tolerant, and high-performance offerings to address their needs.

  • Wan Optimisation for the branch office and Internet: In enterprise environments, CIOs are increasingly evaluating wan-optimisation solutions as cost-effective alternatives to bandwidth upgrades - because they realise that spending more on bandwidth, without managing it, will not necessarily improve application response time, or enhance the ability to deploy quality-sensitive applications such as Voice-over-IP. By using Allot's offerings to identify and control business-critical applications, enterprises can increase employee productivity, and improve their ability to compete in today's business environment.

Organisations with high-volume internet traffic, such as universities, can only control the ever-increasing demand for bandwidth, resulting from P2P traffic, by deploying Allot's high-performance traffic management devices, in a manner that limits bandwidth allocated for P2P traffic to a controllable amount per user.

Within the last year, Allot has achieved a variety of milestones, including:

New customer engagements: across all market segments, including enterprise customers such as AG Edwards & Sons, Societe Generale, Starbucks, VW, Kroger, Schneider Electronics, Hitachi, Sony, Rolls-Royce, ADC, Amdahl, Symantec and Penske; Governments users such as the INS, the Department of Homeland Security and the German government's Customs Office; Service providers including Sprint, Verizon, Singtel, British Telecom and Fastweb, and continued dominance in University/educational markets, with customers including the University of Miami, Louisiana State University (LSU), Syracuse University, and hundreds of others.

The delivery of technological enhancements: to monitor, classify and manage new network traffic flows from evolving VoIP and P2P applications - in addition to a variety of network analysis and reporting tools that make it easier for network administrators to manage their networks, while helping service providers sell innovative new services to their customers.

Global expansion: New offices in Australia and New Zealand, plus an expanded presence in Japan and Italy, results in a global presence comprised of offices in 25 locations worldwide. Allot has continued to attract new sales and management executives in all markets, including the U.S. and Israel.

Partner Momentum: Allot has recently appointed a new head of its channel operations, launched a variety of enhancements to its partner program, and initiated alliances with scores of resellers and strategic partners such as Extreme Networks, Redback Networks, Oracle, Avaya and many others.

Innovative education and support programs: such as Allot's innovative "Traffic Management Handbook" which has been downloaded by tens-of-thousands of customers, partners, and prospects to date. Allot continues to invest in initiatives that cater to enterprise, service provider and university/educational market customers.

Industry Awards: Allot was recently ranked by IDC as the #2 provider of network traffic management solutions -ahead of many networking industry titans. Within the last year, Allot has been named to a variety of prestigious industry lists, including Deloitte & Touche's Technology Fast 50, and the Red Herring's list of 100-Top Technology Companies. Allot was the first company to achieve the Tolly Group's "First & Foremost" certification for traffic management solutions, and Cap Gemini recently declared Allot's technologies to be the industry's best overall solution for blocking recreational P2P traffic.

"We're extremely proud of the success that our management, sales, and product development teams have achieved within the last year, and we look forward to even greater success as market trends in the networking space continue to gravitate towards our strengths," said Yigal Jacoby, Chairman of Allot Communications. "Today, more than ever, traffic management technology has become a requirement for virtually every network, and we're committed to ensuring that Allot's offerings meet the evolving needs of our customers."
