SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Allied Telesyn, a global provider of secure Ethernet/IP access solutions and an industry leader in the deployment of IP Triple Play networks over copper and fiber infrastructure, today announced the introduction of the AT-9924TS to its line of IPv6-enabled 10/100/1000T Layer 3+ QoS switch solutions. Designed for high-performance enterprise and service provider networks that require rich QoS, hardware resiliency and greater media flexibility, the 9924TS is the most flexible small form factor Layer 3 Gigabit switch solution on the market today.

The AT-9924TS is a modular 1RU switch with 24 fixed 10/100/1000T ports and two 20Gbps capacity expansion bays that currently support SFP, 10/100/1000T or 10GbE XFP modules. This modular design enables network operators to deploy a single switch solution in multiple configurations throughout the network and to add further performance capability to installed switches when required. Front-to-back cooling and support for jumbo frames also make the AT-9924TS the ideal platform for data center server applications and high-performance IP SANs using iSCSI technology.

The AT-9924TS is shipping now with a list price of $8645.

"10G performance, Layer 3+ QoS and resiliency are the drivers behind the 9924TS," says Philip Yim, Allied Telesyn's executive vice president of marketing and product development. "This switch offers network operators a remarkably capable solution to today's demanding high-performance environments. Rich functionality, advanced QoS capability and configuration options combine to make the 9924TS in particular and the 9900 series in general the industry's most compelling Gigabit Layer 3 switch solutions."
