Deal for 1.26 million lines is believed to be the world's largest order of ADSL lines by one telecom operator

PARIS -- Alcatel, (Paris: CGEP.PA, NYSE: ALA), the worldleader in broadband access solutions, has been awarded by Taiwan's ChunghwaTelecom a tender to supply 1.26 million Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Lines(ADSL) to cover all major cities in Taiwan. It is believed to be theworld's largest order of ADSL lines by one telecom operator.
